Is there a community code of conduct or expected etiquette?

Yes. Everyone who joins the Agogo community agrees to our community etiquette. You can read it here. If you encounter a community member who is not following the rules, please report them immediately to report@agogo.market.

Is the website moderated?

All ads placed on the site are reviewed before they are published. If you find an ad that is inappropriate or you believe to be misleading or fraudulent in any way, please click Report from the ad itself and we will investigate immediately.

Will Agogo help if a sale doesn’t work out?

Agogo is simply a marketplace for community members to connect. We do not offer any mediation between buyers and sellers. If something seems odd about the buyer or seller whether in person or by email, you are under no obligation to respond or continue correspondence. Read our additional tips on buying and selling.

I need to report suspicious activity

This can happen from time to time in marketplaces. Thank you for making an effort to let us know and to help keep the community safe. Please contact us directly at report@agogo.market with the details.

Signing Up / Profile

Why should I join with Facebook or Google Mail?

Using your Facebook or Google account will pull some of your information into your Agogo profile. It’s the fastest way to join and helps us to verify your account.

I didn’t get an account confirmation email when I joined

How do I add a profile picture?

  • Click on the Profile Icon
  • From the left menu (click on Menu icon to display on mobile) select the Gear icon
  • Under Account Details, you will Select a New Avatar to upload your picture

Do I need to fill out my profile information?

To help keep our community members feeling safe, we do encourage you to fill out your profile and include a profile picture. Both buyers and sellers can review each other and reviews are connected to your profile to help foster a friendly marketplace environment. To edit your profile click the Profile icon, and then the Gear icon.

Why do I have to give my phone number?

Registering with your phone number gives all buyers, sellers and advertisers an extra level of verification to maintain a safe and secure community. It also saves you from having to enter your number each time you create an ad.

How do I reset my password?

If you have forgotten your password, click on the Register/Log In icon at the top of the site and then click the Forgotten Your Password? link.

If you remember your password and you would like to change it:

  • Click on the Profile icon
  • From the left menu (click on Menu icon to display on mobile) select the Gear icon
  • In the Change Password section, enter your old password, select a new password and save.

How do I delete my account?

On your computer: click on the Profile icon (top right of the site). At the bottom left of your profile page you will find the Delete Account option.

On your phone: click the Profile icon (bottom middle of the screen). Click on the Menu icon to see your profile options. Scroll to the bottom of the grey menu to the Delete Account option.

How do I review someone I have been dealing with?

To create a review you must first have interacted with them via our messaging system so we can verify that the review is based on an actual transaction. If you communicated via phone or text, simply exchange a friendly message on the ad. Once you have reviewed each other, the review can not be changed. Reviews will show up on your public profile.

Where do reviews show?

A review will show on your public profile for all community members to see. Once a review is submitted it can not be edited. You can see all of your own reviews in your Profile.

Creating an Ad

Can I pay to get extra promotion for my ad?

Yes. If you need to sell something quickly, fill a job vacancy in a hurry etc. you can pay to boost your ad. After your ad has been approved, you will see the orange Promote icon next to your listing on Your Ads page. You will be presented with the various options to get more visibility.

How do I create an ad for something to sell?

Click the Submit Ad button at the top of the site. If you don’t already have an account, you’ll go through a quick sign up and verification. Then, it’s really simple. Follow the steps below, or read our Step by Step Guide for Posting an Item on Agogo Market.

  • Click Submit Ad button
  • Create a descriptive title for your ad. Tell us what you’re selling, service you offer, job you are hiring for etc.
  • Choose Sell as the Ad Type
  • Based on your selection, you will fill out some additional information including price, condition and item category
  • Upload your photos – this is easily done from your phone or computer
  • Add any additional information to your description
  • Confirm your preferred contact info
  • Save your ad

How do I create an ad for something to sell?

We’ve created a guided selling process for many of our most popular categories. For example, when you sell your car, we ask for the Make and Model along with the Mileage, Fuel Type and other commonly asked about features. While not all fields are mandatory, we do suggest you fill all of them out to the best of your knowledge because buyers can search and filter by these features. If you don’t fill out the information, your item would not be included in their filtered results and will get less people viewing.

What can I sell on Agogo?

Pretty much anything that’s legal to sell! Here is a list of general categories. If we’re missing anything, let us know and we’ll add it for you.

Can I post rentals? (Cars, apartments, houses and vacation rentals)

Simply select Rent as your Ad Type in the listing process. You can enter a price and the rental period (day, week or month). For example, 200 BDS / day. You can upload several pictures and fill out additional details about your rental that will help potential renters find the right option for them.

How do I post a job?

Simply select Job for Hire as the Ad Type in the listing process. You will be able to upload a photo or logo for your company as well as paste in the job description. We also ask for additional details like the type of contract, seniority level etc. to help job seekers filter and narrow their search to find the right fit. If you are not publicly advertising the salary offered, check off ‘not published’.

How do I post my services?

Simply select Services Offered as the Ad Type in the listing process. You will select the type of service you offer under Details to help people to find you easily. Enter photos of your work, or a flyer for your services as well as some details about what you offer.

What types of services can I list?

You can advertise almost any service on Agogo Market (provided it is legal) so others can find and hire you. If your service is missing, please contact us.

What types of services can I list?

Certainly. Select Sell as your Ad Type. Under Details, select your type of event under the Sales and Auctions categories. You’ll also be able to enter the date, start time and finish time.

How do I take good photos?

We have a simple How to Take Great Photos guide. All images must be a minimum of 355px wide by 250px tall. That’s actually pretty small, and any photo you take with your mobile phone camera will more than suffice! The maximum image size is 3MB – if your image is larger than that you will need to edit it down in size.

I get an error when I try to upload photos

Your photos must be:

  • A minimum of 355px wide by 250 px tall
  • No more than 3MB in file size

Editing, Promoting and Deleting Ads

How do I edit my ad after I post it?

  • Click on the Profile icon
  • In the left hand navigation (click the menu icon on mobile phone) select Your Ads
  • Click the Pencil/Edit icon beside the ad
  • Make your changes
  • Save the ad

Can I bump up my ad after I post it?

Yes. If lots of ads get posted after yours and you’d like to bump it back to the top of the list you can do so ONE TIME. Your ad will still expire at the specified time.

To bump up your ad, click the orange Promote icon next to your listing on Your Ads page. You will be presented with the various options to get more visibility.

How do I delete my listing when it sells?

We appreciate you marking your listing as sold right away!

  • Click on the Profile icon
  • In the left hand navigation (click the menu icon on mobile phone) select Your Ads
  • Click the Pencil/Edit icon beside the ad
  • Check off Mark As Sold
  • Save the ad

It will be removed from the site, but remain in your dashboard in case you need it again.

Can I see how many times my ad has been viewed?

Yes! Click on the Profile icon and select the ad you want to see in the Visits Chart. Here you can see the number of people who viewed your ad each day. From the Your Ads tab, you can see the total number of people that have viewed your ad.

Will my listing expire?

Yes. Your listing will expire after 30 days. This is so that items listed in the community are current and up-to-date (in case some sellers forget to mark their item as sold or delete it when it is no longer available). You can renew and re-post your ad from your profile.

Dealing with Buyers

How will potential buyers, job applicants etc. contact me?

They can use the phone number you provide to contact you, or message you through our secure and private messaging system. We suggest you put your preferred contact method in the description of your ad.

Will people negotiate on price?

Probably. And if you are particularly open to price negotiation, then you can check off that option beside the price when you are posting your ad.

If I have a problem with a buyer, does Agogo provide mediation?

Finding an Item

Can I search for a specific item?

Yes, you can search by keyword and also determine which category you would like to search. From there you can even filter your results to find exactly what you need.

Can I filter results by price, condition and other features?

After clicking on a category or doing a search, you will see several filter options on the left hand side of the screen when you are on your computer, or by clicking Toggle Filters on your mobile. You can filter by category, price, condition and ad type PLUS even more filters depending on the category you are viewing.

For example, in the car category, you can filter by mileage, make, model, body style and more. You can refine your search for clothing by size to quickly and easily find what you need.

Dealing with Sellers

How do I contact a seller?

You can choose to contact the seller directly by phone, text or Whatsapp message. Alternatively if you do not wish to give out your own phone number or email, you can use our private and secure messaging system to contact the seller. All communication would happen within our website and neither your email or phone number is provided to the seller.
